Responsibilities

Business Unit/Department Mission: Shapes bread for new and existing retail customers by performing the following duties.
Lead--Monitors production flow and controls quality of breads and baked sweet goods for sale to new and existing retail customers by performing the following
duties. Expert-- Mixes, shapes and bakes bread.

 

Essential Functions/Process Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Must be knowledgeable of 95 bread varieties and 75 pastry varieties
  • Coordinates production flow of baked goods and organizes production area
  • Oversees quality of baked goods and monitors shrink
  • Oversees the production of special orders
  • Schedules production crew shifts, lunches, and breaks
  • Orders raw ingredients for baked goods
  • Maintains sanitation in bakery department
  • Monitors working conditions of machines
  • Assists in training new bakery production partners
  • Directly supervises employees in the Bakery Department

Education and Experience Preferred

  • Typically requires 5-8 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of department product, food preparation, and equipment required
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Knowledge of commercial baking procedures and equipment essential     

Physical and Other Requirements

  •  Function in a fast-paced, retail environment
  •  Lift 20 lbs or more on an occasional basis
